MED 2050 project
In 2017, the parties to the Barcelona Convention mandated Plan Bleu to launcha new prospective study on the environment and development in the Mediterranean by 2050. MED 2050 is an ambitious foresight exercise, designed as an original science-policy interface, intended to mobilize decision-makers and stakeholders from the South and the North by going beyond geographic and institutional borders.
The MED 2050’s objectives
confront several possible visions of the future of the Mediterranean by 2050 (with an intermediate stage in 2030) and co-construct solid and realistic transition paths towards common objectives.
The MED 2050 prospective network brings together thematic experts in foresight, regional players and decision-makers at different scales and members of civil society from the three Mediterranean shores.
